Eagle Rays at Milaidhoo Island Maldives
Look who we found on the Milaidhoo Island Maldives house – a beautiful spotted eagle ray. Eagle rays belong to the stingray family and they possess several venomous barbed stingers at the base of their long tail which are only used for self-defense, so they’re perfectly safe when you see them in the water.
They move through the water gracefully using their wing-like fins. Eagle rays are rather shy but this particular individual seemed to know that we don’t pose a threat and came to have a closer look at us.
