We are following approved, official guidelines to ensure your health and safety while staying at Milaidhoo, adapting to this new situation and your requirements. General health and safety precautions should be taken by you to protect yourself while travelling to the Maldives. As a guest of Milaidhoo you will not have to visit Male’, as you will be escorted by Milaidhoo airport staff from the arrival hall at the International Airport straight to the seaplane lounge.

All Milaidhoo staff undergo regular temperature checks and are fully briefed on the safety and hygiene precautions put into place by the government of the Maldives and Milaidhoo.

Milaidhoo Island Maldives is a small resort exclusive to a limited number of guests with no outsiders allowed on the island. The villas offer complete privacy with housekeeping and butler services adjusted to your wishes. Milaidhoo offers a wide variety of private dining experiences and excursions, all of which can be tailored to suit you.

  • Exclusive Island Buy-Out: you can also opt to book the entire island to spend time with friends and family in complete privacy and exclusivity.

  • Cancellation up to 7 days before arrival will be fully refunded.
  • Should the cancellation be related to a government decision or air travel restriction, the cancellation will be free of charge.

The above cancellation terms are valid until 15th December 2020 and do not apply for the an island buy-out.

BEFORE YOU TRAVEL

You are advised to use a mask and carry hand sanitizer while travelling. Social distancing at all times is highly recommended.

ARRIVAL AT MALE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

  • Our Milaidhoo Airport Staff will welcome you on arrival just outside the arrival hall at the airport.
  • Our airport staff will provide hand sanitizer for you and sanitize the handles and zippers of your luggage.
  • You will be taken to the Seaplane check-in counter together with your luggage,. You may wait in safe distance while our airport staff arranges check-in for you and your luggage.
  • We recommend you carry with you three photocopies of the personal details page of your passport to handover to our airport staff upon arrival. These will be used for the seaplane check-in as well as for checking-in at the resort. This will eliminate unnecessary handling of your passport.
  • After check-in for the seaplane, our airport representative will escort you directly to the Milaidhoo private departure lounge.
  • Upon entering our lounge, we recommend that you discard your personal mask. You will be provided with a new mask in the lounge for your seaplane journey.

THE SEAPLANE JOURNEY

We can offer you the option of chartering a private seaplane exclusively for your use as this reduces the waiting time at the airport as well as having to fly with other passengers from other resorts. The seaplane journey will be offered at the minimum cost.

ARRIVAL TO THE RESORT

Upon arrival at the resort your private butler will welcome you and escort you to your Villa. The Villa is fully disinfected and air condition filters are cleaned after every guest departure. Your personal butler will take care of your every need during your stay.

WHAT IS DONE TO PREPARE THE VILLA BEFORE MY ARRIVAL?

  • The entire Villa, including furniture and fixtures and your private pool, will be disinfected for your safety and comfort.
  • Only one member of staff will enter your Villa and housekeeping service will be arranged based on your preference.
  • Your Villa will have been kept vacant for at least 48 hours after the previous occupant has left. During this period, the entire Villa will be fully disinfected and all cushions, curtains and draperies will be washed before your arrival.
  • The pool in the Villa will be fully disinfected during the 48 hours and tested before your arrival. Regular pool testing will be done during the house keeping service.

BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND DINNER

We will be providing A la Carte Breakfast for all guests in Ocean Restaurant every morning. You can also enjoy breakfast in your Villa at no extra charge if you prefer. Meals that are included in your booked Meal Plan can also be provided in the Villa without any additional charge.

IN VILLA DINING

  • In-Villa dining service will be provided by your personal butler.
  • In-Villa dining orders will be delivered to the Villa through the service door at the back to ensure your privacy and to limit the number of people entering your Villa.
  • Private dining options for all meal-times will be available throughout your stay.

ACTIVITIES AND EXCURSIONS

All activities and excursions will be available for you to book exclusively. If you wish to join any group excursions, we will limit the number to four or six guests per activity

SERENITY SPA

Our Spa treatment rooms are all in separate pavilions and offer total privacy. We will provide the treatments as usual in our Serenity Spa or in your Villa, however, additional hygiene measures will be in place. All treatment rooms will be sanitized and kept unused for at least three hours between treatments.

GYM

The Gym equipment and all public area washrooms will be disinfected every hour during the day. We recommend you use the wipes provided to clean the gym equipment after use.

UPON CHECK-OUT

Your personal butler will make arrangements for check-out and final payment to be done in your Villa. We recommend you avoid carrying cash while travelling as the use of credit cards is safer. Should you wish to leave a gratuity for a staff member, we can add the amount to your final bill.

DEPARTURE BY SEAPLANE

  • On departure, you will be provided with a 100ml hand sanitizer bottle as well as three new face masks per person.
  • When you arrive at the airport by seaplane, our Milaidhoo airport staff will welcome you at the seaplane jetty and escort you to the Milaidhoo transfer vehicle with your luggage. Your luggage handle and zippers will be sanitized and you will be taken to the international departure terminal by the Milaidhoo private vehicle.
  • Our Milaidhoo airport staff will arrange a disinfected trolley for your luggage and escort you to the international check-in terminal.
  • Our Milaidhoo airport staff will arrange the check-in process for you, while you may wait a few metres away to maintain social distancing.
  • If you are travelling Economy Class, our Milaidhoo airport staff will assist you in purchasing Business Class lounge access at Male’ International Airport.

MEASUREMENTS TAKEN FOR MEMBERS OF STAFF

  • All members of staff undergo temperature checks on a regular basis and contact tracing records of each member will be kept.
  • All staff members will remain on the island unless they go on leave, in which case a two week
    quarantine period and a negative COVID-19 test result is required before they attend duty.
  • Should staff members have fever, cough, cold etc., they will not be allowed to work and will undergo quarantine on the island in an isolated room. If needed a test will be done to ensure the staff member is free of COVID-19.
  • Employees will be on straight shifts.

If you show symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, difficulty in breathing, etc., the resident medical personnel will be informed and attend you in your Villa. Your travel history and other relevant information will be checked and you will be medically evaluated.

The resident medical personnel will examine you, provide respective medication and attend you on a daily basis. A contact tracing record will be kept as a precaution.

  • The resident medical personnel will take appropriate action and isolate you in a separate room on the Water Villa jetty. The Health Protection Authorities (HPA) of the Maldives will be informed.
  • The General Manager and Resort Manager will personally trace back your activities and identify your staff with whom you had contact to be isolated in separate rooms.
  • Further advice and action will be taken based on the HPA protocol.

The government has taken various steps to ensure the best possible way to contain the spread of COVID-19 within the Maldives. Among others, strict monitoring of travellers upon arrival and strict hygiene rules are implemented by the HPA.

We have allocated several Villas as isolation facilities for any guests who show COVID-19 symptoms and we will follow the guidelines implemented by the HPA. Additionally, we have rooms allocated for staff members for isolation purposes if needed.

Yes, we do have first aid medical facilities at Milaidhoo. Our medical personnel is available 24 hours a day. The nearest hospital can be reached within 20 minutes by speed boat.
